Timeline: Pre-game, AU events
26 Nov 1979 - Lily Potter discovers she's 4 weeks pregnant.
29 Nov 1979 - Lily Potter sends owls to Regulus Black and Severus Snape.
1 Dec 1979 - Millicent Bagnold is named the next Minister of Magic. She is scheduled to be sworn in on January 1, 1980.
5 Dec 1979 - Regulus Black steals the locket horcrux and dies in the cave.
7 Dec 1979 - Sirius Black receives an owl from Regulus, detailing his effort to steal the horcrux and destroy Voldemort.
10 Dec 1979 - Sirius meets with Dumbledore, and gives him Regulus's letter.
18 Dec 1979 - Dumbledore interviews Sybil Trelawney for the Hogwarts Divination post at the Hog's Head. Trelawney makes a prophecy regarding the fall of the Dark Lord. Severus Snape hears part of the prophecy and is thrown out of the inn. He does not tell Voldemort what he heard.
24 Dec 1979 - Violent DE attack on Muggle London. The Daily Prophet calls it the Christmas Eve Massacre.
25 Dec 1979 - Protesting occurs outside of the Ministry of Magic, in which protesters demand justice and protection for muggle-borns and muggles. Carlotta Pinkstone leads the protest and is arrested.
30 Dec 1979 - Pinkstone is released from jail with yet another mark on her record.
31 Dec 1970 - Protest fliers from the British Organization of Muggle-borns appear in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
1 January 1980 - Millicent Bagnold is sworn in as Minister of Magic. GAME OPENS.

22 July 1881 - Albus Dumbledore is born.
Late 1880s - Ariana Dumbledore is attacked by muggles, and Percival Dumbledore retaliates, attacking the muggles.
1892 - Dumbledore starts his first year at Hogwarts.
1886 - Dumbledore becomes prefect.
1888 - Dumbledore becomes head boy.
Early Summer 1899 - Dumbledore graduates and plans to tour the world, but Kendra Dumbledore is accidentally killed by Ariana. Albus stays and cares for his little sister.
Mid Summer 1899 - Dumbledore befriends Gellert Grindelwald.
Late Summer 1899 - Albus, Aberforth, and Grindelwald fight, and Ariana Dumbledore is accidentally killed. Grindelwald flees.
1905 - Dumbledore returns to Hogwarts as Professor of Transfiguration.
1920s - 1940s - Grindelwald begins to gain power in Europe.
31 Dec 1926 - Tom Marvolo Riddle born in Muggle orphanage to Merope Gaunt.
Summer 1938 - Albus Dumbledore visits young Tom Riddle at the orphanage.
Sept 1938 - Tom Riddle starts his first year at Hogwarts.
Sept 1939 - Riddle learns of the Chamber of Secrets.
Sept 1942 - Riddle is made a Prefect.
Spring 1943 - Riddle opens the Chamber and unleashes the basilisk & Myrtle dies after viewing the snake.
June 1943 - Riddle given an Award for Service to Hogwarts; Hagrid expelled.
Summer 1943 - Riddle murders father/grandparents in Little Hangleton; frames Morfin Gaunt for deaths; steals Marvolo Gaunt's ring, presumably making the ring a horcrux.
Sept 1943 - Riddle asks Prof. Slughorn about Horcruxes.
Sept 1944 - Riddle is Head Boy. Closest friends are beginning to refer to him as Lord Voldemort.
Summer 1945 - Riddle graduates.
1945 - Albus Dumbledore defeats Gellert Grindelwald and imprisons him in his own prison at Nurmengard.
Summer 1945 - Riddle disappears for several years after being refused the D.A.D.A. position at Hogwarts. It is presumed he traveled to Albania and made the diadem horcrux.
Circa 1950 - Riddle returns to take a position at Borgin & Burkes.
Mid 1950s - Riddle steals the locket and cup, makes them into horcruxes, and resigns from his job, disappearing again.
Circa 1960 - Riddle returns and asks Dumbledore for the D.A.D.A. position again, but Dumbledore refuses. It is presumed that Riddle places the diadem horcrux at Hogwarts during this time.
1970 - Riddle returns to Britain and begins gathering followers, known as the Death Eaters.
1973 - Dumbledore begins to form the Order of the Phoenix, determining that the Death Eaters are a serious threat.
1979 - The first war reaches its height. Crouch authorizes the aurors to begin using unforgivable curses against dark wizards.
